I am really happy with how this 3D print turned out. Quicksilver is a kind of obscure board game, but I have wanted to replace the standees with miniatures for years.

A few years ago I wanted to play a storytelling game of blame and excuses with campers at summer camp. Drawing for inspiration for Aye Dark Overlord, I put the game together and now I have made it available for others to enjoy: www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/5...
February was another great month of playing board games. Highlights include dusting off Warhammer: Invasion and exploring Grimdark Future by @onepagerules.bsky.social for the first time.
Played Grimdark Future firefight tonight. I really liked Grimdark Future, and the bucket of dice but I still think I prefer smaller model count skirmishes.
Not yet, but I have Firefight all set up to play with my son this weekend
I just played this game for the time this month too. Also with fellow dads. It is exactly what I wanted
I am really hoping the algorithm picks this up so I can get some input. I want to play a Star Trek game on the Nintendo Switch. These are my options, all the games have mixed reviews, but which would you recommend or caution to avoid?
This was my first board game related 3D print as well. When I thought of games that would benefit from a printed insert Scout was at the top of the list
These are going to be playable but I am not sure they are very paintable. Of the miniatures I have attempted to print these turned out the best. I think the key was using models from designers who made with with filament printers in mind. I also used Bambu studios filament and I think that helped.
If you see this, post a Star Trek
I am thankful to the people who create STL files and make them available to others.
I was able to print a 2,000 point Blessed Sisters army for Grimdark Future. Really looking forward to getting them to the table.
I played a learning game of Voidfighter from @ospreygames.bsky.social. Jedi Vectors took on a Nihl gunship and fighters.
A while back my daughter played a miniatures game for the first time. She liked the experience but did not like how combat based it was.
She had an idea for a miniatures game that was more whimsical and I helped her make it. Today we put it out in the wild: www.wargamevault.com/en/product/5...
I jumped in on this, and it is worth it just to support a good cause. However I was thrilled to discover Rebel Scum 2nd edition was included
I found this game, unopened on the clearance rack at Half Price Books. On Boardgamegeek there are only 6 ratings, 0 comments. There are two reviews one says the game is incredible and the other says says it is terrible.
I love trying to discover hidden gems so I could not pass it up
My daughterβs favorite type of tabletop games are dexterity games. We had a lot of fun with Mars Open: Tabletop Golf.
It simultaneously makes me feel like a crusty grognard because it is hexes and counters as well as a gaming hipster because it is fairly obscure, but my favorite game is Federation Commander.
I do not understand the hate that Mario Kart World gets. I think the rally racing feels like something new instead of redoing what has already been done.
Also my favorite racer is penguin. Little guy always looks so happy
It is a lot of fun! If you have any nostalgic memories of playing Halo with friends back in the day, then it is even better.
This was a good year for playing games. It was my 17th year to record plays, and this was the third highest year I have recorded. At 14 it also had the highest H-index for a year ever. I also played over 40% of the games I own. Looking forward to keeping the fun going in 2026.
Our informal rule is that something has to happen three times before it becomes a tradition, so here is to doing it again in a year!
That is such a fun gift idea!
I know I am not the only one to make this observation but are we really doing the hunger games?!?
I did not know this is a thing. How fun!
Movie youβve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar
We recently got a 3D printer. I am looking forward to printing D&D miniatures but my spouse is excited to print organizers for all our board games.
Your library has video games? Thatβs amazing
At a regional con I participated in a paint and take miniatures event. This Halfling pikeman really stuck out to me. I do not know when I will get to play a character in D&D again, but when I do I am making a character for this miniature. I even have a name. They will be Whiskey T. Foxtrot
I wish they kept up with making official soundtracks for books. Music to go with some of the more recent High Republic books or Thrawn trilogies would have been so good
