New York City!!?
I feel this strongly: I don't care. I am DISGUSTED that 175 little girls are dead and that thousands are dead across the region and that 1 million people are displaced in Lebanon alone. THIS IS EVIL.
Speed lines lol
Hell yeah, got a write up in Billy Penn about the @wednightrides.org @skypeascientist.bsky.social collab.
Cyclists chucked seed bombs in abandoned lots last week. Wholesome as hell.

A rough-skinned brown toad, covered in lots of spiky bumps! They have a thin lighter brown line running down the center of their back and a slightly wider lighter brown line running down their side! They have a cream-colored belly! They have a prominent ridge running from their nose and around their eyes! Their parotoid glands are nearly round and quite small, smaller than their eye!
Our friend the Southern Round-gland Toad is also known as the Dry Forest Toad, or even better in Spanish as the Sapo Chiquito de Bosque Seco! They live in extreme southern Mexico and through Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua! (photo by Josue Ramos Galdamez)
“Piracy is the most effective form of artistic distribution these days. So be it.”

Two woodfrogs, Lithobates silvaticus, cross a road while engaging in amplexus (mating). This is not too uncommon and both crossed the road into the vernal without incident.
HAPPY WEDNESDAY MY DUDES

But things are changing. That starts with articles like this one in the Texas Observer magazine. Bravo to Asher Elbein for his thoughtful prose and for Clint Guadiana for taking the time to work with this journalist. 3/3 www.texasobserver.org/consider-the...

ICE converting warehouses to deportation camps reminds me of Les Milles, a tile factory that was converted to an infamous deportation camp and prison by the French Vichy regime. Thousands of "enemy aliens" were imprisoned here, many of them were sent from there to Auschwitz and Dachau.
They are very uniquely adapted to these cold, clear waters. I believe there are around 60 similar related species but as you note they are the largest. All species within this genus are threatened by pollution and climate change due to their requirements.
The Titicaca water frog (Telmatobius culeus) - the largest truly aquatic frogs in the world.
They're found at 3,920m above sea level, in Lake Titicaca.
These frogs are famous for their loose, baggy skin folds, which allow them to absorb oxygen directly from the water.

The DHS corruptly purchased vehicles emblazoned with ICE propaganda from a Trump donor that are not being used because their ICE goons don't want to use them knowing it exposes their corrupt, sadistic, unconstitutional, hateful, bigoted, criminal and evil acts under this regime.
I see Davie has not changed mush since I lived there
Cis people need to pay attention to the way they communicate this. They freely admit that after all of their research, they came up with zero evidence that HRT was harmful.
Then they banned it anyway, claiming their inability to find a reason is a reason in of itself.
A bucket full of wood frogs, Lithobates silvaticus, and yellow spotted salamander, Ambystoma maculatum. They were helped across a road into the vernal pool they were going to.
Some critters I helped cross the road during migration. Volunteers were out to help and make sure most did not get run over.

Parts of New Jersey have done this but it can be…tricky…to get that on the agenda
I’d say redback then. I’ll admit, though, I’m not sure what other species occur in that specific area other than redbacks, two-lineds, and the occasional red (Pseudotriton ruber)
This is in Philly proper? I lean towards redback but it could be a four-toed. I figure it’s redback size?
Duskies are much bigger and beefier unless they’re young, in which case they may be redback sized but with gills
It's not over.
Please keep helping your neighbors.
Remember we said this has changed our lives—changed us.

This is incredibly bad. This species is already in trouble and every protection rolled back just pushes it further to the brink. I have personally seen Right Whales and it grieves me to think that they may become extinct in my lifetime
Minneapolis schools are still being targeted by 🧊
At this point I would not be surprised if he deported them as soon as they got to the U.S. anyway
A large, gravid female spotted salamander, Ambystoma maculatum, crosses a road to get to a breeding vernal pool. There she will deposit her eggs to be fertilized by a male.
A wood frog, Lithobates sylvaticus, blends in with a ground covered with leaves. It has just finished crossing a road to get to a vernal breeding pool.
An bright orange eastern newt, Notophthalmus viridescens, crosses a road to get to a vernal pool
A dark gray salamander moving among leaf litter, although it lacks the red it is a “leadback” phase of a redback salamander, Plethodon cinereus
As the weather warms up and the rains get more frequent salamanders and frogs are on the move to get from their hibernation spots to their vernal breeding pools. Take extra care when driving or bike riding in sensitive areas! #Herps #Spring
