Editor. Word person. Bookstore aficionado and occasional bookseller. You say I’m a nerd like it’s a bad thing. Worried Canadian.

a cartoon of a bee with the cn logo on the bottom right Alt: a cartoon of a bee with the cn logo on the bottom right. It is hovering in a grey sky with white fluffy clouds, and is very round, with big, shining black eyes and a mouth that opens wide in a way that makes you think it is saying “woowwww.”

Bees!!!!!!!!

Oh, I see the terrifying (sarcasm tag) Introduction to Camus and Introduction to the Enlightenment are on the list. If my kid was reading Camus in high school, I'd be ecstatic. Surprised, but ecstatic.

This is very random, but it is very important to me that more people know about this:

Prism - Armageddon
Prism - Armageddon YouTube video by GordonYYZ

It misses out on the 1980s by 6 months (released in June of 1979), so it won't work for the playlist--which is a shame, because really. I was living on an air force base when it came out, so it hit in a particular way for me. A bit of classic Canadiana. youtu.be/UkPhGRQzboE?...

Listening to a podcast about medieval maps (and eels!), knitting a red Norwegian-style hat. Am feeling settled for the first time in days.

I do not doubt this!

And this is legitimately hilarious. I don't know if the experience itself was (I somehow doubt it), but still.

!!!! Closest I ever got to that was "Please do not climb on that. It is a thermonuclear device." (at the air force museum in Dayton, Ohio, to a small child of mine who liked to climb things).

Asakusa has the best kitchen stores. I found a set of little cookie cutter-like things there for cutting carrot slices into flower shapes for o-seichi. The set comes with three or four sizes of cutter, all nested together. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

Most of my exposure to superpets has been through Art Balthazar’s Tiny Titans. There is a whole series of grade 2-level novels about them

I've just realized that I am actually quite irritated. Eleven rings, to me, means that someone *needs* to reach you because there's an *emergency*. I have some adrenaline to dump now.

Someone just called me, waiting eleven rings, to tell me that the Federal Reserve Bank is going to give me $5.4 million dollars and a new Toyota, the colour of my choice. *Eleven rings* from a bank that neither exists in my country nor gives out free anything. I despair of the world.

I finally started to make some lists to organize all the lovely and brilliant people I follow and to make it easier to find certain kinds of content (scholars, editors, journalists, shitposters, etc.) So many of you are on multiple lists, require a new list, or are hard to sort. Well done (sob).

One of my favourite parts of editing is checking maps to make sure the details are right.
