Again, my experience is anecdotal, but holds true across multiple phones, accounts, geography, and time. Though this behavior does ebb and flow like it's in a/b testing.

So anecdotally, if I'm on Instagram and near my parents and one of them is as well, my entire feed changes both on the timeline and on explore.

Testing this theory, when out of state at a friend's house, my feed was quite normal until they also started using Instagram and my feed mirrored theirs.
