Rejoice in the Abyss BY STEPHEN SPENDER The great pulsation passed. Glass lay around me Resurrected from the end. I walked Along streets of slate-jabbering houses, Against an acrid cloud of dust, I saw The houses kneel, revealed each in its abject Prayer, my prayer as well: 'Oh God, Spare me the lot that is my neighbour's.' Then, in the upper sky, indifferent to our Sulphurous nether hell, I saw The dead of the bombed graveyard, a calm tide Under the foam of stars above the town.
It is a weakness of our system that the murder of 160 schoolchildren does not result in an immediate dissolution of the government.
Wondering who may betray him, Trump scans the room for a shoe that fits.
The way "father" become "dad" is telling; this is infantilizing.
But this doesn't seem like an anti-war bill to me, it seems pro.
What am I missing?
I think it's a bad idea. Dems should stand against the war in every way, not facilitate it.
Thanks I hate National Mall car races
murderers still sailed on
DAN BEACH-QUICK SONNET Must I anger and must my anger pearl, My anger pearl, must I pearl, must I polish Madness daily, rub nacre into a world Perfect, round, what in my hand should finish As wound deepened by wound? Not jewel, not gem, Not beauty, not gem. I am this anger. Must each note aria I mean as requiem, I mean requiem, mean dirge, must one finger Bear the weight of every word, set in gold, Hand held so the pearl catches the angle Of light, and glowing, says, "I am betrothed." Betrothed? I am small terror wed to wild Rhyme. We must climb inside the world to live. A sand-grain in the mind tells us to survive.

Elizabeth Warren: "I am a hard no on a supplemental. This is not a war the American people want us to engage in. This is not a war that makes us safer ... No. No more money. The only thing Congress has the power to do is to stop actions like this through the power of the purse."

Tweet from Rep. Andy Ogles: "Muslims don't belong in American society. Pluralism is a lie."
Obviously the extreme bigotry against Muslims is more than enough reason to oppose this, but it's worth noting that this is also an attack on the very basic principle of religious pluralism that has made the US a comparatively safe place for Diaspora Jews.
Tweet feom Rep. Andy Ogles, @repogles. Marcha 9, 2026. Muslims don't belong in American society. Pluralism is a lie.
American society is pluralism. It literally is nothing else.
I would so much rather live in a community with Muslims in the US than with hateful bigots like this: www.huffpost.com/entry/andy-o...

Isn't he a handsome fella?
If you say that it is βthrowing Jews under the busβ to correctly call Israel an apartheid state and raise the legitimate question of whether the US should give aid to Israel, you abandon the grounds to call out actual antisemitism at a time when it is rising.
It's so fucking galling

This is such a great interview. Thank you for sharing it. My favourite line is βMaybe changing the world is more like caregiving than it is like war.β I think this is so true.
In the City of Eve BY MAJDA GAMA SHARE i As a girl I followed my father to our rooftop, up the narrow stairs, close to his white hem & dark slippers. The iron steps rang with the striking of our feet. He carried a telescope, the sky was clear, the moon in eclipse. The shadow did not bloody the surface, it smoked across the lunar terrain. We often stood on the rooftop when the house was newly built, saw dogs running in the distance across the packed sand. I asked if theyβd be safe; he said they would look after each other. In
