I, too, would like to be on this list.

The reason so many of these people love the idea of nostalgia is because itβs an escape from the modern condition they helped create; and a regression to literal childhood when things were βbetterβ (translation: simpler because they were children).
That didnβt take long.
Thank you for following up on this. Iβd imagine they needed to pull the plug before the class action lawsuits began.
Absolute ghouls. They can fuck right off⦠into the sun.
Translation: we pulled the plug before the libel and class action lawsuits begin.
Whatever youβve been smoking, I want some for writing.
βCarreyrou is a master craftsman whose authority as a writer speaks for itself. Grammarly is a soulless operation struggling to stay ahead of the advances in AI that will make it irrelevantβ¦ people would love to write like Carreyrou; no one is striving to write like Grammarly.β
FUCK GRAMMARLY.
An absolutely wonderful space to work in. Would go again.
Huge congratulations to @nickbrucker.bsky.social on the announcement of this deal. Very pleased to be reading this at the moment and itβs a *lot* of fun!
Photograph depicts the upper level of Gladstoneβs library in North Wales. Long bookshelves and timber frames in an Edwardian grade one listed building.
Very disappointed to learn a prominent historical fiction author regularly uses AI to shortcut their way through research. Doing your own research by visiting a library is a vital component to working out your narrative.
In the end, I found way more than I expected and it was worth the effort.
'About 10,000 writers have contributed to Donβt Steal This Book, in which the only content is a list of their names. Copies of the work are being distributed to attenders at the London book fair on Tuesday'. 1/2
Thatβs super disappointing.
Writing advice on the whole is bullshit but there are β in my opinion β only two Immutable Laws of writing; reading your own work out aloud is one of them π
Putting me to shame, Beth. Whatβs in the bowl?

@jim.londoncentric.media's exposΓ© of mass evictions from of Londonβs biggest landlords has made the rounds last week. In the early 60s, another notorious landlord, Peter Rachman, had his shady business practices exposed, as Neil Root explainsπ
Making my child dress as Richard Osman for World Book Day
Absolute classic. That final sequence absolutely scared the shit out of me.
Weβve not heard from him since the Toyota broke down!
This also happened to me with someone in America. I see your Bob at Nissan, Bible Study emails β and your hardcore pornography subscriptions.
Post from Julia Fine that says, "Write the book you want to read because you will have to read it 75 times."

Shouldβve kept the TV, too.
WOW.

I know the TTSS is a polarising topic amongst le CarrΓ© fans, but I think itβs a wonderful adaption of the source material β itβs an exceedingly difficult task to edit a seriesβ worth of plot and tone into a two hour film and I thought it was a great exercise in presenting the essence of the story. π€·
