The first is a ballad that Christian and I have been playing quite a bit on the tour. “Boomer” is an older tune of mine which we finally made a good, legible version of, after a few requests from folks to make that available.

There’s a big Brahms influence here, particularly from the finale of his Handel Variations, which similarly uses pedal points in octaves surrounded by figuration and melody.
As always, I’d love to hear some pianists play this one! It’s a nice chance to work with the middle sostenuto pedal on grand pianos if that’s available.
