I guess the idea is that pokemon don't subscribe to the same concept of gender as humans do, which does kinda make sense all things considered

wouldn't expect a pokemon game to do something interesting with pronouns, but pokopia kinda does?

every pokemon in the game uses they/them, but human writings you find sometimes refer to specific ones with he/him or she/her, and that's the only place in the game where you see that
