I am begging indie authors (because you guys have more choice in this) to abandon 'soft touch' matte covers for your books. They feel terrible, and if you want to get your book in a library, you have a pretty high chance of being denied because it's hard to Library-laminate those covers.
I know - I used to be a librarian, and had to laminate many such books. It doesn't adhere well, and the coating pulls away from the paper, degrading your book faster, meaning that it is more quickly culled from collections.
There are other, more durable, matte options out there.
