No, it was just 2 weeks ago. I just don't like the way the game looks in action.
I saw someone speak positively of it, looked up the most recent major event for it and clicked remove from cart.
Seeing so many younger players shift to only playing online, and watching arcades slowly fade makes me really sad. The FGC, more specifically that "C" has had a profound impact on my life, and I really encourage younger players to give locals a shot. Hopefully you also have the experience I did.
I have an anxiety disorder I won't go into specifics about. Offline FGC events helped me to gain control over it. I encourage those with similar problems to try attending in person FGC events. It has helped me become a more functional person and helped me make many long lasting friendships.

Absurd that so many people can genuinely say the stupidest shit, take themselves seriously, and then also think they are good because they can beat their little bro. The Dunning Kruger effect is alive and thriving.
For real reading the replies to the posts about people being randomly DQd by corrupt TOs who can't run a tournament for shit and seeing people blaming the players for a game being terrible really helps showcase why fighting games as a genre keep getting "dumbed down".

I know several young players who very much break these conventions still, it is just sad to see the larger tend.
I am sure there are plenty of newer players who would agree with me that slower playstyles, zoning and setplay are exciting too.
I feel like the younger generation of players really hate the slower, more deliberate and in control playstyles. Everybody wants to gorilla out. When a character like Ken or Sol is top tier people only complain mildly but when JP or Happy Chaos are strong you never hear the end of it.

I have hit the point in mvc2 where I have a decently passable MSP until I get about 6 games deep into a set and I feel exhausted. Seriously such a high effort and energy playstyle. The players who have played this team in tournament for decades are crazy.
