It’s FRED BASS DAY! In 2018, Mayor Bill de Blasio issued an official declaration in celebration of Fred’s many contributions to New York City. Today we celebrate Fred and his legacy, The Strand, by sharing a few of our favorite stories and quotes from over the decades he spent selling books.

The Bookstore by Michael Walek is a heartwarming play about the owner and employees of a small indie bookstore. Not only do we love the subject matter, but we also love that the books on the set were sourced from The Strand!
