Double exposures in nature help me create images as I feel it to be. #photography #nature #art #fineart
#Foggy mornings in the #Chicago area are magical. The nature and architecture are perfect for it. And thanks to this guy that let me take photos before getting in the frame. Although... I like the one with him in it the best. #photography #bridges #art #fineart
I know it's #digital #photography blasphemy, but I love grain (noise, whatever) and have no issues letting my ISO be where it needs to for a shot. I don't know where we got this notion that every photo needs to be luscious, but I find beauty in it. #fog #art #fineart
Love this.

The Xorg to Wayland transition is the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced in 8 years of using Linux full time. It is not ready for full time use. Flicker. Crashes. Broken screen sharing. Apps not opening. So much is unusable. Switching back and forth is ridiculous. #Ubuntu #Linux #FOSS #OS

It's my favorite thing now almost every day. Post AI content annnnnd BLOCK. It's helped what's left of my sanity.
It might sound weird but signing prints is one of the harder things for me. Thanks to skin #cancer on my thumb and many surgeries I've lost fine dexterity in my right hand. Huge thanks to great doctors π«Ά. It's all worth it. Seeing prints in real life is just so different. #photography #art #fineart

I donated a framed #photograph. Many #artists have given #art!
I also block anyone that posts AI content, even if it's a reshare.
But there are some great people there making wonderful art there. I do recommend Blue Sky in my posts there. There is a different version of this post there in fact, as I've started to very much change the way I display new work. Anywho - this is where I am at. Thanks for reading.
I hope other #artists also feel the same way and move away from their hard work being turned into a transient viewing as a best case scenario. I am still on #Instagram and understand the issue of still being on the platform that does terrible things.
I have no desire to create widgetized #art, even though Blue Sky is exponentially better, it's still a venture capital backed company that doesn't have it's monetization figured out yet. So, posting will be slower. It will be more deliberate and focused on the work that I've recently created.
My social posting style is going to be different from now on. I realized recently that I just don't have an interest in being a content #creator. Social media sites set up the rules and control the way people see our work. It turns us into click-minions. #photography #artistlife #art #artist

I love this millions.
All of the prints I have received from them are top-notch and I am happy to support a company from #Minnesota. Much love from #Chicago to you. The completed print will drop on Friday, February 6th.
In addition, I am going to release a very limited run of ten on Pearl Paper. I feel that is going to look magical. So, get em while you can. This image is a composite of my image laid over the example from WHCC, who is my preferred print provider.
For this diptych, I've decided on a main run using Aquarelle. I think it will have a great dreamy look to it. These prints will just be available online until March 15th. After that it will only be available in person for a while.
When I do photographic prints, I tend to use Lustre Paper, which has an old-school RC pearl feel to it. When the image calls for uniqueness I use Pearl Paper, which relates to it's sheen vs feel. This paper has an almost metallic look to it and some images look off the chart with it.
3/3 I typically use Aquarelle Rag Paper for my archival fine art prints, which has an amazing texture and quality to it. It's thick and feels like a watercolor image. Sometimes I use Smooth Matte Paper as well.

Call me old school, but it gives people options when framing and over time when the edges of the paper might yellow from being in contact with mounting tape, it won't intrude as much on the main image. Once I got this right, I exported and then it's time to decide on the paper I am going to use.
Using Linux has freed me up to care less about the technology and more about the process and output, but I digress. So once I imported the images, I assembled them into the image size, here being 12" x 9" and then expanding the canvas to 11" x 14". I print with wide borders.
