dialogue resets at the end of runs in shiren 2. theres this merchant who says "one time i had just the strangest customer." then describes a customer doing tech as a gameplay tip. but today he said "it was this girl...she was really sweet...i still think about her, but i wonder if she remembers me"
shiren the wanderer is probably the jrpg series i can think of with the least thoughtful premises when you explain them out loud (guy goes on a classical journey and hangs out) and most exemplary writing chops. it's rly aspiring for more gameplay focused rpgs can still fit in good writing chops
it feels like game freak had a lot of ambition for doing big cities in this time period but still didn't have many good ideas for buildings deeper than store u buy slightly weirder things than in a pokemart in. tho castelia gets away with it by having a lot of fun npcs
they wanted to expand their new innovations of lumiose by making sure that hoenn too had a single city with 5000 loading screens
Wahoo!

YAAAAAAY
Kirby Air Widers
saw that the legal guys in charge of this are trying to use it to push through more child-safety acts that don't protect any actual children at all. nightmare state!!
i rly rly hate valve and i think u sorta do in fact have to legally enforce what they're doing as wrong if u want game ethics to improve. gacha and all live service structures too. they're also like completely uncompromised worldwide influencing libertarians idk. i hope someone with a spine does it
now this may strike some viewers as harsh,
๐ฎ What the fuck are you talking about the Metal Coat is a container of metallic skin cream and not just some nebulous metallic object

I played slime rancher 2 because it was free on playstation plus and one of the first popups is shaped like a cloud and says 'Remember to be curious and always be kind' and i deleted the game immediately
oh this got a steam release huh?? i played it when it was a switch exclusive and liked it. it's a neat short story game with a theme of hiding your true identity cuz you're a monster (and those are unloveable, right??). we like that sorta thing
egg on head: whatโs csm famous golfball: clip studio man famous golfball: just joking mate its chain saw man egg: you got me so good golfball: bit of Monday afternoon fun
damn canโt believe clip studio man is ending so soon
i used to try it every time i woke up as hugo, but then i got too consistent with it and my opponents started thinking to punish me for it. u gotta love hubris if u play like that
just has to be said that genshin impact and even like...animal crossing new horizons definitely waste your time in incomparable volumes compared to like, i dunno mother 1 or final fantasy 2 or kingdom hearts chain of memories
to be fair grinding as a joblike trance state of satisfaction has been a thing since before i was born. the ppl i talked to were just playing pokemon instead of runescape. but i have seen a lot of ppl swap from one side to the other (or even think both at once) which feels distinct
there is rly a million things to be said by the live service game vs old games dichotomy but the most interesting to me is how hated "grinding" was in rpgs communities when i was a kid, VS how many modern beloved multiplayer/gacha games grinding is just kind of the default means of play
pondering the notion that people that primarily were exposed to games through gacha probably associate difficulty with just the game trying to squeeze money out of people
they're one of the genres of characters u can rly see a person's personality through in their play, and confidently sucking is one of the most important parts!!
namco urbanism, where you go straight from the elevated motorway through dense skyscrapers into the tropical beach
A red and black sketch of Giygas from Earthbound/Mother 2, "it hurts..." is uttered by the ghostly apparition of what was once a blabbing almighty non-idiot.

i hope u find cool things in it bc i don't want my teenage self that thought it was the worst remake ever to be vindicated
