I thought this was a really good episode. Funny and personable, but also, candidly, straight cis dudes talking about their feelings with their buddies is a good thing to model.
I (Dan) hated it, but the thing that bugs me most of all is unimaginative modern blockbuster mediocrity. I'd much rather watch something incompetent-but-unique than Hollywood IP slop. If your calibrations/priorities are different, it might work okay for you. (Not judging anyone, if so!)

I would say this is maybe the ideal example of a Flop House episode but they DID bring in a ringer with Jordan...

We used to be set up to have more of a cultural history -- cable TV needed content, so old reruns would be played to fill time, plus we'd be watching shows written by older people obsessed by the ephemera of their own youth. Now the internet has fractured everything, and all is narrowcasting.
