I'm pretty sure @anim-ttrpgs.bsky.social was single handedly responsible for six month run of (small) but steady sales for Unchained Mysteries.

Kodi Gonzaga On Ten Candles In which Kodi and I discuss: Bringing emotions to the game. Games as safe spaces for bad feelings. Emotionally connecting with your character. RPGs as β€œtherapy” and self-expression. Being emotionally disconnected from overly scripted moments. Resonating with biracial themes in our game. Struggling with awkward resolutions. The difficulty with mixed-successes. The myth of agency through narrative control. Why math shouldn’t pace your games. Thirsty Sword Lesbians, game or meta-game?

Season 2 begins with @jaztice.bsky.social discussing Ten Candles.

One of my pet peeves is that I don’t want dinner/coffee/dessert/a drink BEFORE the theater, I want those things AFTER the theater so we can discuss what we just saw but all The restaurants and cafes around the theaters are setup the opposite.

This is how I feel when people talk about RPGs being therapy just because they imbued their character with emotional stuff they’re personally invested in.

Yes! And the β€œI’m going to catch you in a lie with audio clips” is one of the best investigation mechanics I’ve ever seen.

I loved it too. It did feel like a tech demo built for attracting investors to make something longer.

It’s getting to the point where the majority of RPG art is actively turning me off games.

The People I Play With (@PeopleIPlayWith) β€’ Activity β€œThe People I Play With” is an interview podcast where I talk one-on-one with people with whom I have recently played a role-playing game. It is not a product review show. In fact I try to keep the specifics of the game to a need-to-know minimum in order to focus on the guest’s insights into their own play process.

In two weeks…

Old sketch for a Trollbabe illustration for Adept Press way back in early 2000s. I love trollbabes!

The problem with having a blog where I complain about things it can be hard to remember if I've complained about something before.
