I feel uneasy when morality is used to justify regime change, because it echoes the same reasoning once used to “civilize” the world. Claims “we’re doing this for your own good” resembles the same patterns of racism and imperialism that were used in the past to dominate others.

Remove the leader while allowing the regime to survive with concessions to the benefit of U.S. business interests.
