Too many buses.
Buses stink.
I want trains! Choo choo! π
These are just enormous Hispanic swings:
Atlanta can deliver vast majority of transit projects on More MARTA list. Takes pulling a few levers, not increasing taxes, & being judicious with both funds & project delivery.
No public budget suggests otherwise.
Take a look at sample ranked list. Where would you prioritize?
Historic buildings on Auburn Avenue
Historic and under-construction new buildings
It's nice to see both historic preservation *and* new development happening on Auburn Avenue in Downtown Atlanta! This investment couldn't be happening to a better street in the city. May it continue.
Auburn should be second only to Peachtree in terms of being a highlight corridor for Atlanta.
We have plenty of financial levers to pull without increasing taxes from baseline. We also have more transit services expansion projects to deliver if we so choose.
We need to get out of our own way, understand schedules and benefits of delivering in a key sequence, then ensure we deliver.
Atlanta, while Iβm not keen on Mayor & BeltLine CEOβs transit expansion disruption, we absolutely should not let 2 people dictate & thus should:
1. Share Project Priorities
2. Understand Accruals, Expenses, & Forecasts
Take a look at a ranked list. Where do you agree? Disagree?
Introducing Who Owns Atlanta? who-owns-atlanta.org an open-source project mapping the ownership networks of 615k+ properties in and around the City of Atlanta.
From the researcher tracking 1000s of parcels to residents trying to find absentee landlords, this is for you. You, too, nosy neighbors.
Giddy up!
A flyer showing two pictures, a before with a 4 lane road, and a rendering of after showing one general purpose lane transformed into a protected bike lane. It reads: West Peachtree Street from Linden Ave to 11th St: Under construction beginning March 2026* A before/after view of changes being implemented on West Peachtree near 3rd Street Retain existing one-way traffic operation Add a protected one-way bike lane by repurposing one travel lane and several on-street parking spaces β’ Resurface West Peachtree St β’ Provide bus stop enhancements, signal modifications, and ADA upgrades throughout the corridor β’ Make spot pavement repairs
Fresh off the opening of the Juniper bike lane, the West Peachtree protected bike lane is also starting construction this month?! What an exciting time for cycling in Midtown. #Atlanta #cycling #urbanism
Yep and appears to be similar in style to Techwood- which should be of decent quality. Spring is also under construction
Mayorβs Cabinet gets 2 votes on the More MARTA IGA, with both the Mayor & BeltLine CEO represented.

Unfortunately an image that compels one to double check the news π
Hereβs my take: theyβre going to propose autonomous pods on the Southside to deliver faster, then transit to more of that expansion elsewhere & potentially rail elsewhere.
But theyβre going to prioritize infill stations over rail, even if thereβs more money than planned.
Campbellton is π¨ πͺ
Theyβre intentionally not disclosing information to anyone but those in closed door meetings, despite constituents & City Council demanding otherwise.
Atlanta mayor is fully aware. BeltLine is fully aware. So is MARTA.
Mayor is muzzling MARTA ICEO while Mayor has & owns BeltLineβs βsupportβ.
. @AtlantaBeltline CEO just said theyβre prioritizing Southside transit due to the Mayor but @MARTAtransit Board decides
& More MARTA funds limited, but also projected to bring in more money than initially forecast
Theyβll use multiple modes of βtransitβ.

There sure are a lot of cars in a plaza that was specifically designed for people...
Too bad it's unusable outside of a game or special event
Hey Atlanta! Ever wonder where various transportation events are occurring around town? I haveβ¦

I appreciate them sharing the graphic of what the BeltLine will look like with rubber tire autonomous transit pods.
Tall order, but yes it will start to help. Just an atrocity what happened to the neighbors & neighborhoods.
Fulton would be another good connection to add.
So would converting the interstate to a boulevardβ¦
How did Seattle, the city once left in Atlantaβs dust, come to lead the nation in rail development? My colleague @mlbaruchman.bsky.social explains: www.ajc.com/politics/202...
Public input open on a safe streets project
Another meeting tomorrow at 6 pm at the Georgia Neighborhood Hill Center.
Reupping as less then 2 days left to file to run for these GA seats!!
π we can and should get something wonderful for the neighbors & city with this one!
Very excited to see it move forward- much needed & deserved from a priority perspective, IMO.
RDA/Georgia Ave would provide a great E-W route across Atlanta. Let's ensure its up to the highest micromobility standards. Please email the addresses the below. CycleAtlanta 2.0 plans here: www.atlantaga.gov/home/showpub...
We need to this happen. Reposting so I can quickly find the email to share. If you live in West End, Adair Park, Mechanicsville, Pittsburgh, Summerhill, Grant Park, heck even Peoplestown - share with anyone you know. We can make these communities even better and more safe with this road change!!!
Thank you! Share with neighbors too, please!
