Distraught woman says ICE killed her wife in video after deadly Minneapolis shooting "They killed my wife," the distraught woman says, adding, "They shot her in the head." An ICE agent shot and killed a 37-year-old woman who was driving an SUV in Minneapolis on Wednesday. / Screenshot/@Breaking911
"They killed my wife. I don't know what to do," the woman says through sobs in the footage, with a damaged SUV visible in the distance behind her. "We stopped to videotape, and they shot her in the head," the woman cries. "We have a six-year-old at school," she says, almost unable to breathe, as a chaotic scene in which federal officers prevented at least one doctor who was on the scene from assisting the shot victim unfolds. "We're new here," the distraught woman says in despair.
You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.
This could be you.

Laura Rodriguez, on Twitter: A federal agent points a weapon at a woman who was recording them. Jess, a U.S. citizen and member of a neighborhood patrol team that documents and shares ICE activity across the city, was filming when the incident occurred earlier today in the Berwyn area.
I fear if things donβt change right now, this image is going to come back to haunt us

If I wasnβt clear: Tikvah Fund, which is run by one billionaire, funds a TON of stuff in the US conservative (political, not denominational) Jewy ecosystem, and it turns out they funded Bibiβs book translation to Hebrew RIGHT before the 2022 election, thus helping prop up this monsterβs regime.

I loved Bill Moyers' show. And I treasure the books of his wholehearted interviews about poetry, Genesis, mythology, and so much more. I wish he'd talked with Robert Caro. Extraordinary life.
This is devastating for so many. If you've got any $$ to share, Danya's right: Planned Parenthood and your local abortion fund need support now more than ever. As a pastor, please let me assure you that so many folks you know and love rely on these services for their well-being.
Grant Park in downtown Los Angeles, full of union members peacefully singing and talking and carrying their signs.
For those who live elsewhere, this is the heart of downtown #LosAngeles. My friends are here. My union is here (sup @wgawest.bsky.social). My teenager is here. People are passing out pastries & singing & praying. All we want is for our neighbors not to be kidnapped off the streets.
Yes, βdisasterβ is the correct word β this is a public health catastrophe. The pressure for him to resign should begin tonight, and continue until it happens. Nothing else should be in front of this. Go to a 19th century cemetery anywhere in this country to know why.
BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schoolsβtold staff they had βparental consent.β
They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasnβt a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.
βA 2010 study that analyzed 40 years of protest coverage in five major newspapers, including The New York Times and The Washington Post, found that the papers depicted protests β even peaceful ones β as nuisances rather than as necessary functions of democracy.β

#ICYMI: Disclosure forms show that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi sold between $1 million and $5 million worth of shares on April 2. That day, after the market closed, Trumpβs βLiberation Dayβ press conference sent the market tumbling.

As someone else noted "bottom 60%" is a weird way to say "the majority." It's not looking great out here, friends.
They are withholding this student's diploma.
Whether or not you agree with him, you cannot say you're trying to educate students to stand up and speak out when they feel they need to, and then threaten to withhold the diploma they have *earned* when they do this.
What if every primary was contested and the candidates competed to see who could out public service each other even before being elected?

βIβm not sure. I think it might just be the narrator of the song.β
βthat would make sense. The song sounds awfully upbeat for someone who actually got left.β

The battle of our day is no longer about Democrats versus Republicans or left versus right.
The choice right now is democracy or dictatorship. And we're sliding faster than I ever thought possible into the latter.
Everyone must choose which side theyβre on.
Women's rights are human rights.
They aren't negotiable on International Women's Day or any day.
Here in Illinois, we celebrate the contributions of the incredible women in Illinois' history and honor them by continuing to push our state forward.
I hadnβt!
I have a lot of wonderful clergy colleagues who are speaking up for trans kids, but we are still hugely outnumbered. A good word and call to action:

As our editor-in-chief said back in November: Our job is to give readers an independent, verifiable account of whatβs happening, even if the president is calling us enemies of the people or bloodsuckers.
At ProPublica, our mantra is that we bring the receipts to every story we publish:
Donald Trump has just released a national under 18 trans care ban executive order. I am working through specifically how it tries to do this, and will live tweet here section by section as I read through it.
It is not yet on the website, but has been released via press release.
