It's very funny seeing people in the comment sections of my community polls complaining about only newer songs perform well, when in reality, 1977 alone has won the same number of polls as every year from the 2010s combined.
Remember guys, you canβt afford a gas rig, or a coal mine, or a nuclear power station, but you can afford to put some cheap solar panels on your roof.
Thatβs why the fossil fuel industry has spent billions trying to kill renewable energy.
The dealer needs to keep you addicted.
"Draft Barron and the children of those running the regime," people say as if Trump and his mafia actually care about the well-being of children or of their own families.
NBC News poll Voters hold negative views of Al. In fact, the only topics less popular in the survey were the Democratic Party and Iran.
Truly a perfect news alert
I dont think I've ever seen a more definitive example of 2020s Americam engineering than the fact that I just went to a parking garage that got rid of it's ticket machine and replaced it with scanning a QR code to pay & leave...
...while also being underground with no easy Internet accsss.
I mean I've got nothing against furries, not my thing but whatever, you do you bro, but like...
"I'm guessing my previous comment about my deep sexual attraction to Judy Hopps was somehow deleted, so let me just repost it because it's super important! Now lets get into the details..."
...dude.
*sigh* Not now, YouTube community posts.
I think people who agree about like 90% of things furiously arguing about Kamala Harris losing in March of 2026 is going to be my "Maggie you have to sign off" cue from now on
The fact that YouTube doesn't have an option creators can turn on that automatically says "This video has strobe effects in it, are you good watching it?" which viewers have to click before watching it is absolutely insane.
Oh no I get what it means symbolically, I just have no clue what the actual symbols themselves are supposed to be... like it seems like a metaphor that only works in one direction that ought to work in both
It's been nearly a quarter century and I've STILL yet to hear a decent explanation of what "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" is supposed to be about.
It is horriying to think that an entire generation is coming of age knowing nothing but Donald Trump and the nastiness that is our political culture. I shutter to think about what the implications of this will be for an already weakened democracy.
"Firebomb a Walmart" ass take
Yes, we are FAR past the point where voting is gonna fix everything, but Christ, it's fucking SOMETHING.
Whatever kind of revolution youre imagining, it's only gonna work in the US if normie citizens realize their hatred of these fucks is a SOLID majority opinion.
Trying to stay positive and keep chugging, but this whole thing with the US fully becoming a new Axis with Israel against the will of the people is so incredibly, deeply fucked
Lmao that takes me back... yeah that was the self-published one I sold at some local New England bookstores in 2014, probably a couple thousand of those floating around
"HarperCollins published over 1800 pages of Minecraft fanfiction I wrote when I was a teenager in over a dozen languages, after which I made a living doing music criticism on an 18k-sub YouTube channel for nine years" is my actual life story and it also sounds like something I just now made up.
The idea behind "slop" isn't just that something is uncanny or lazy, but that it's similar to the slop that farmers feed to pigs: a mushy, disgusting slew of hapazard refuse that has no value outside of merely "being consumable" that's lapped up mindlessly by those who refuse to demand better.
2026 nuclear family memeβ featuring Fritzi as Neurodivergent Aunt, Sluggo as Sluggo, Nancy as Daughter, Nancy Jr as Woke Dog
This could have been avoided if we had made Charlie Puth a bigger artist
I completely agree with you though, it feels like Femme Fatale's overall high quality (and enormous success) have kinda been written out of not just pop history, but Britney Spears's lore as an artist, and I don't think that's fair at all.
Also you could put a gun to my head and if I didn't know already, I would NEVER guess that Britney's only US #1 hits after Baby One More Time were Womanizer, 3, Hold It Against Me and the remix of Rihanna's S&M... very few artists are less defined by their chart toppers than Britney Spears.
Hold It Against Me is in a strange place for me... I really don't care for that weird dubstep break and feel like the song would be significantly more solid without it, but I also feel like that break is one of the few things that makes the song truly memorable, it needed SOMETHING like that.

The Switch 1 uses graphics tech that hit the market the same year that:
-YouTube was founded
-Hurricane Katrina hit
-Bill Gates was Time Person of the year for being a "good samaritan"
The idea that anybody would be annoyed that a video game releasing in 2027 wouldn't run on it is insane to me.
...ever before. I actually don't think that the quality or relevance of pop music is unusually low right now, it's just taking up an exceptionally small part of our day-to-day thoughts since most of us are in constant survival mode rn... this pop scene in a calmer time would feel perfectly solid.
I mean yes, I do feel like the relevance of pop music is operating at several notches below normal... and I know that I'm not the only one thinking that... but I honestly think that's just because the state of the world is overwhelming and punishing, making pop music feel more frivilous than...
2026's hit parade has felt a way that pop music hasn't felt in a very long time: normal.
No insane droughts, no world-changing blockbusters, just a solid series of decently interesting and compelling things happening on the pop charts with new stuff rotating in gradually.
Gotta say... it's nice.
