Classical petrologist. Steelmaking, Casting, refractories in liquid process metallurgy, microscopy, microanalytics. I think the terfs are right. Als Adam grub und Eva spann, wo war denn da der Oligarch?

These are still international waters. Exclusive German economic zone, but not 'territorial waters', those only go to 12 nautical miles from Helgoland.

The Bundesmarine has some.

Geschichtliche Normalitaet.

you see how central Germany is to the fate of the EU. Imagine how much better it were if there was a committed pro-European, pro-rules based order German government.
Unfortunately i am afraid the German bourgeoisie chooses, if it has to choose between Europe and allegiance to the US, the US.

I hate that phrase (arc of moral universe bending towards justice etc). Its obvious bullshit for anyone who only had a passing glance at history and its in equal measure a feelgood wrap for people to prevent them from actually thinking.

i was living 20 kilometers from the death strip
The next day our town was packed full of DDR citizens, going through every imaginable shop. It was a totally insane day, never forget. Joy did not last long though, already in the summer it was clear it wasnt going well.

Because in January they had no idea yet that they would attack Iran. Israel had not ordered it yet and they were still busy preparing for Greenland, where they might have needed mine clearers.

The guy is a serious experiential expert on the middle east though and it shows in his unwillingness to make "definite" predictions :)

We know why, and he has deserved some acknowledgement, he is only the last in a long line of do nothing governments that collectively fucked this up.

yea Mr Merz then what. A sternly worded letter? A declaration that the matter is complex?

of course they will be asked and of course they will send
"its purely defensive"
"its our interest too that the oil flows" [for which Trump gets a cut]

i wonder how an algorithm should be that avoids both extremes - bubble wrapping vs unilateral propaganda - and avoids 'enshittification'. Clearly, clicks cant be the measure. But people also do not read textbooks, although that 'would be good for them'. Can quality redactions be automated?

"users in Finland ... felt that the content they received corresponded very poorly to their views"
That can be a good thing. There is a balance there. People should avoid being wrapped in a self confirmatory bubble that also separates them from reality.

I once was on a US Democratic website where ppl complained that they were systematically served items about Republicans. The articles were universally negative. But they made 90% of the feed and blotted out Democratic visibility. Website's answer to the complaints was 'that gives us the clicks'.

"in a fashion that doesnt cripple their chances for the future ..."
Too bad. Thats precisely what the Israelis want.

Die Frage ist, auf welcher gesetzlichen Basis, und wer soll Grenzen festlegen und all das. Die Pressefreiheit deckt auch die Freiheit, verzerrende Angebote zu bieten, und sich solchen auszusetzen. Man muss da schon aufpassen.

whats he gonna say. Let him explain to the German public what Bundeswehr is doing in that place at all. Its not widely known, i would think.

now that sounds like a bit more convincing AI. For real world action at least - LLMs may be good for human speech based affairs but if i want to pour 300 tons of liquid steel (which i do) I dont want my model hallucinating.

The capitalists are them who want capitalism the least. They want guaranteed wealth and power, not risky competition. So they are (at current) transforming capitalism into feudalism, with themselves as lords. That answers your question. Capitalism out, Feudalism in, modern civ's collapse as result.

By now, the rich have transformed their income into asset wealth. I doubt thus that "income" tax is sufficient to address this. I would suspect that a form of wealth (asset) tax is needed to force them to relinquish this property, but then it becomes an issue where this should be relinquished to.

Not at all! The pilgrims went to the Americas in the hopes of there building the theocracy they could not in Europe.

Am besten entwickelt Rheinmetall auch ein Close In defense system gegen diese Boote. Produktmaessig eine ideale Kombination.

well that is somewhat standard outside of the much maligned liberal order that everyone hastens to bury.
We are since the Trumpists basically ending a 3-4 century effort to at least control corruption. Hardly anyone seems to see that we are giving up the fundaments of our own rise.

So more reports get written (by LLM) that none reads, containing statements (by LLM) that noone checks, the net effect is that more tick boxes on managerial KPI dashboards get ticked, without assurance that any actual activity happened. It is Potemkin village building. Thats my so-far experience.

/ but its not that lit search was hard or bad to do beforehand - the problem was (here) that hardly anyone bothered to do it. Now more do if its 'at a click' via llm, but it implies that they wont bother to check if is reliable, same reason they didnt do it in the first place, carelessness. /

Not sure i 'pretend' that they are useless. I havent used them yet (doing applied science in heavy industry) mostly bc i didnt feel a need yet. I have seen colleagues use them as writing tool but results were bad. As lit search tool they may be more useful /
