Agree. Recidivism is a reflection of a failed prison system. Other POV: prisons are a business where its employers rely on recidivism to ensure a consistent workforce.

Not the painting itself but grateful to have visited St Remy de Provence in France where he painted it. Toured the “insane asylum” and his room where he was housed in during the painting. Breathtaking experience.
