Cosplay is a dozen or more skills all mashed into one big hobby and I love sharing how wonderful it is. But I will not do anything at my own expense for people who won't truly appreciate it or see me as a way to get what they want for engagement. DIY it like everyone else or pay someone for it!

When I get the last minute costume messages it tells me that they don't value my labor or time bc they're not willing to spend the money on the costume but want me to lend out one of my styled wigs/costume pieces as a favor. They benefit entirely from my work and I get a damaged item back

Annual reminder to my cosplay friends that you do not owe anyone your time or labor last minute to help them with Halloween costumes.
Do not let non cosplay people like family, friends, or coworkers pressure you into thinking you owe them anything or that borrowing your things isn't a big deal.
