Ive put permit locks in the faction map. Blue is locked, yellow unlocked. You can see how the colonies have penetrated right to the heart of the Col 70 Sector through the unlocked regions.

I dont know if it is still possible but if you could get in your SRV and hide inside one of the hangers. Then wait for all the scouts to get killed and then go out and examine the debris. You could even push it around with your SRV

Perhaps if the per variety ranges are tighter than surfaceTemp ranges we could eliminate planets that don't have a wide enough range. The only problem is I already have too many projects. But if anyone fancies doing the analysis I can make the data available.
I would like to use it to improve the on-foot safety indicator on the signals page and maybe something for the Cannon plugin. The other thing it might be used for is refining the spawn ranges for various surface biology.
I have managed to squirrel away over three million on-foot surface temperature readings gathered during organic scan events and all the body data associated with them. So we could do some analysis to try and determine a formula for estimating the min and max temperatures.

Just got hooked to this book series. Its basically about a nerd engineer who reawakens in the future as a disembodied computer replicant after his death and is sent to replicate himself and explore the galaxy. Not been able to put it down.
