Highline feed update! The Highline ⬆️ and Highline ⬇️ feeds will now try to skip showing you posts you've already seen on these feeds. Please let me know what you think.

Sorting option added! Let me know if it works for you.
I switched which jetstream instance it listened to, and now the server seems to be consuming updates. It should hopefully catch up to real time over the next couple of hours.
The server seems to be stuck in consuming new posts, it will likely take me a few hours to address it
The server is caught up now, let me know if you see anything weird in the feeds.
The server is now consuming events again, but will likely take some hours to fully catch up, sorry!
Looks like this server was affected by Bluesky relay updates, looking into it.
Thank you! Glad to hear it’s useful.
The repost percent isn’t of number of reposts in Following, it’s a target for what portion of the Highline feed is reposts. The server populates it from the top most reposted posts from your follows over the last day, showing the earliest repost for each.
Oh, interesting! I will look into that
Thanks!
With the name, I’m trying to convey that it’s reposts not from the whole network but from your follows specifically — and not take up too much space. Will think about how else to say that
Oops, incorrectly assigning blame here. It was my own bug that I introduced a month ago that broke reposts! Mea culpa.
It looks like a Bluesky app update caused reposts to stop appearing in the Highline feeds. I pushed an update and they should appear again, per your settings.
By default, the Highline feeds include 10% reposts, but you can tweak how many your feed shows at feeds.mdruker.app
New feed: posts most reposted by your follows over the last 24 hours, in descending order of number of reposts. H/t to @bmann.ca for the feed concept
New feed: This one is a _forward_ chronological version of Following that saves your spot as you scroll from oldest to newest. It might be for you if you don't follow a lot of accounts.
Let me know what you think, or if you find bugs!
I fixed an oauth issue that affected logins to feeds.mdruker.app for some PDS’s. If you had trouble getting in, give it another shot!
The server is all caught up! Apologies for the downtime
Turns out the server got stuck on some bad data... 10 hours ago. I pushed a fix and got it back up but it'll take some time to catch up on all
And I'll look into how to make the server more resilient for this scenario
This feed server is not doing so well. Will look into it this evening.
The server is caught up now
Looks like an issue with one of the jetstream endpoints. I switched to another one and the server is now trying to catch up.
The server seems to be behind on updates from the network, looking into why.
FYI: the reverse chronological Highline feed is now known as Highline ⬆️ and the new chronological one is Highline ⬇️. They both use the same feed filtering logic and your customizable settings at feeds.mdruker.app.
New feed alert! I'm developing a new feed, a version of the Highline feed that's _forward_ chronological. It holds your place (up to 24 hours back), and catches you up to not-quite-now on what you missed. Try it and let me know what you think.
Anyone have any feedback about the Highline feed? Especially interested if you’ve tried out customizing what it shows you at feeds.mdruker.app, but I’d also appreciate just hearing how you use it or why it didn’t work for you
This explains some weirdness you may have seen on the Highline feed over the last few hours. This server itself seems to be OK
The Catch Up feed is now known as Highline! Like the highlights of your timeline/skyline.
And new users of the feed will be defaulted to seeing some recent posts at the top. Happy for feedback, of course.
Oauth authorization page asking for identity permissions only
The Catch Up feed settings page (feeds.mdruker.app) now asks for fewer permissions when you log in
Thanks for the feedback! I've now reduced the oauth scopes so it's just identifying your account. Let me know if it works for you
I can’t find how to do a narrower scope, unfortunately. Have you seen that elsewhere?
I don’t do very much with the oauth sessions, happy to narrow permissions if it’s possible, especially if there’s prior art I can look at
