To those in the replies pointing out that 2/3 of the ag land is pasture, much of which can’t grow crops/trees: true.
That said, ~1/3 of today’s pasturelands used to be forest. Pasture expansion is #1 driver of tropical deforestation this century. And beef uses 20x the land per g protein vs plants.
Current attack on environmental legislation goes much further than stopping the green deal. It tries to reverse 40 years of env lawmaking.
It will kill nature and people, harm most European companies & destroy the EU which is based on a common rules based market.

🚨🚨🚨 Cool new research on negative consequences of local ordinances restricting renewable energy development. This update shows that the problem is getting worse, with more counties imposing more and greater restrictions.
