It’s a good day to be a pluviophile.

The Joys of Fatherhood
As I sit here brushing my daughter’s hair, I think about how blessed I am to have her in my life. I think of the way she eagerly pulls blankets up to her chin and tucks herself in. I think of the smile on her face when she realizes I’m putting her shoes on so we can go…
There’s something cathartic about sitting down with a good pen and notebook and hand-writing a story.

Isually video game and movie soundtracks. Mostly just music with no words.
Hollow Knight Impressions
I have this interesting habit of being aggressively apathetic toward critically acclaimed video games and then—years after they release—suddenly becoming interested in and falling in love with every aspect of them. I knew that Hollow Knight has a passionate fanbase that…
Most “POV” posts would work better—i.e. actually work—if the poster would just omit the “POV”.

The menu screen for Breath of the Wild’s Zelda Notes
June 5, 2025: *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* finally gets second-screen support two console generations later.

I saw this image posted on Reddit recently predicting this.
I’m not sure how I feel about Wordle today.

I hadn’t heard of this game before (that I can remember). It is now on my list of games to look into. Thanks for mentioning it.
Yeah. “The Switch sold 330,000 units at launch” means “The Switch had 330,000 units ready at launch.”
Did you actually count, or did you guess? Because if you guessed I’m impressed. By my count it *would* be 20.
I want to listen to more saxophone music. What are your favorite tracks?
A vehicle is parked with its back and the hitch mounted bike rack blocking the sidewalk.
I wish people would stop doing this.
Is it just me experiencing the Baader–Meinhoff phenomenon, or has there recently been an increase of people breaking dependent clauses off from the rest of the sentence with a period?
Sometimes I like to see if I can get from one specific movie/show/actor to another via mutual works. Today’s mental exercise was getting from Chris Pratt to Chris Evans without going through Marvel.
You used the expense of life in prison as a response to someone arguing against the death penalty. I won’t argue the morals of either; I just wanted to point out that, financially, life in prison is the better option.
Taxpayers also foot the larger bill for the death penalty. www.ojp.gov/ncjrs/virtua...
I can totally understand someone having a hard time switching from Notion. It has a lot of powerful features that are hard to replicate in Obsidian. I found Obsidian within a week of discovering Notion, so I never got too deep. My main reason for going with Obsidian was Markdown.
After discovering Notion from you mentioning it on the podcast a few years ago, I switched to Obsidian for the ultimate home of my notes. If I can’t take notes in my Obsidian vaults (one for writing, one for general notes), I either write in my notebook or make a voice note to transcribe later.
Blocking Cocomelon on YouTube Kids is the most annoying game of Whac-A-Mole ever.
This weekend, I tore open a lollipop that plays music to see what was inside:

I put a milk crate upside-down over the heat vent under my desk with a blanket over it so the cat would stop covering it up and keeping the room from warming up.
Tonight’s episode of Going Dutch is oddly topical.
The only solution is to watch *Digimon: The Movie*.
My brother got me a nice pen with a stand for Christmas. Yesterday I sat down with my tablet, keyboard, pen, and a pad of paper. I haven’t typed a single word for that story yet. I think better while writing with pen and paper initially.
I wrote a short story a little over a year ago that I hadn’t published before now. This weekend I decided it was time for “The Raven’s Task” to see the light of day.

When you’re driving and you come to a stop sign or a red light, you’re legally required to stop. It’s not that hard.
It’s especially important if that stop sign is before a crosswalk in a store parking lot where someone is actively crossing with a shopping cart.
