As you win runs you unlock Ascension levels that increase the difficulty. Ascension 0 in STS1 is also pretty trivial to clear if you're experienced with the game and have all the unlocks.

I'm waiting until I see the higher ascensions to pass judgment since there's a lot of carry over from playing STS1.

I did a "run" of Octopath 2 All Extra Battles over the past couple weeks on stream where I rewatched all the cutscenes along the way. I remembered all the major story beats but forgot a lot of the small things and smiled and cried a lot. This game is something special for me.

More stuff that makes different build paths work, relics that do really wild things, much more. There's a lot of stuff I've encountered that ask the question "what if you did the questionably dumb thing or hyper specific build path" and then the brain rot takes over and I indulge.
