A cluster of dull red/orange buds with bright red tendrils reaching out, stretching into the air like tentacles seeking souls to devour
Our Red Maple has started to bud. Or it is a portal to an eldritch domain. Check back later this week to find out which!
yeah, but if you're standing then your momentum is zero.
really the obvious answer is to make everyone take Greek and Latin so all terms are easily understood.
A bulk carrier train car sits in front of a row of concrete grain silos. The photo fades out to the left.
my favorite of the leaky photos. Sometimes the light knows best.

The winner a few years ago showed that sitting on the couch eating crackers and hummus was a good training strategy.
This scene is so good, both setting the tone for the conflict later, and for making the audience think.

Does it count as reading it if I just rewatch Crimson Tide?
(one of my favorites, huge Hans Zimmer soundtrack)
Iβm sure the Smithsonian is already working on an interactive display, which will be quickly taken down after a video along those lines goes viral.
The mock trial concept is interesting, instead of having one kid stand in for the accused. But then itβs probably that kid who learns the most!
If accompanied with rigorous lessons on skepticism, critical thinking, and fact checking. But we both know thatβs not how this would go down. Instead kids would be walking away thinking everything AI George said is 100% factual.
A round boule of sourdough bread with a crosshatch pattern, moderately dark crust with a light dusting of white rice flour.
The boule sliced, showing a moderately open crumb.
I was gifted Tartine No. 3 past Christmas, so have been expanding my flour portfolio. Einkorn is pretty good, if mild. The flour smells odd but the fermenting dough smells lovely.
Have you looked at darktable? Iβve been happy with it for raw conversion, and it does have a negative conversion module but I canβt speak to how good it is. Seems to work fine in my limited testing.
Hey itβs free!

playing train conductor and tidying up the platform is like the first five hours of Half Life 2
green trees, blue sky reflected in a small lake. grasses are poking up in the shallows. a narrow opening on the far side extends into a small pond, with an arched pedestrian bridge spanning it.
That looks an awful lot like this lake :-)

There's a very niche opportunity for someone to produce a modern mirrorless camera with a sweet analog display to get all the (camera)x(watch) nerds to throw their money at.
maybe a Ricoh GR x Grand Seiko?
Not that I could afford itβ¦
Sun peeking around a large monolithic-looking building at the end of a wide brick path lined with bare trees. Rays of light stream through the trees, some real and some imaginaryβor are they?
Skyscrapers peek out in the background over a lighthouse-looking structure built into a hill (actually a parking garage), where a goose that was too lazy to keep flying south gets what nutrients it can from the exposed winter grass. Light streaks diagonally across the photo, as if smeared down from the sky.

Ouch, hope it improves. Iβve heard of some runners who just get them all removed π¬
I really messed up the nail on a big toe doing marathon training, and second toes from halves, but managed to keep them all. Not sure if that's a good thing though since they keep getting messed up! (now doing Indy Mini training)
Hope whatever the doctor recommend it keeps you healthy and moving.
close-up of the plate on the back of a Pen D camera
close crop of a photo showing the similar dimple pattern
I have come up with a theoryβit could be light hitting the edge of the back plate. I'll have to get the negatives to compare for sure but the dimples look very similar.
How would a leaf shutter leave a line like that? Genuinely asking. Wish I was more meticulous with recording settings to know what shutter speeds those were at.
I know someone who works on them but his credentials are dubious heh (this was before the previous "good" roll).
bsky.app/profile/kmr....
Ah yeah I do see at least one scratch in the top-right.
I taped the seams for the second half of this roll to see if it helped with the leaks (the previous roll had some as well, but much less, more on par with this Dashmart photo) so the shutter is a likely suspect. Thanks for the insights!
Thanks for the kind words, I do like the composition and even the artifacts add interest to it to some extent.
Glad I was able to bring a little joy to your feed!
A boring photo of a Dashmart, which is apparently a convenience store only available to order from in Doordash. There's a mild light leak but no other artifacts as on the adjacent photos.
Thanks for the ideas. I didn't want to jump right to it being the lab but I am struggling to come up with another explanation for those patterns running across the film. I need to pick up my negatives to see how it looks across frames.
I think this was the very next frame, taken on the same walk.
This is the cybersecurity approach to safety: the safest park is the one nobody can (or wants to) use.
Indianapolis skyline in the background, across a grassy field, under a small bare tree. A shaft of light reaches out from behind the tree, where the sun must be playfully hiding.
A wide pedestrian walk along a levee extends into the distance, lamps one one side, benches on the other. A person sits in one bench, presumably to warm up in the bright shaft of light extending down the sidewalk.
Sometimes light leaks work well with the composition!

A very washed-out photo of a doorway on a stone building with a vertical line and some repeating artifact patterns.
This one shows a similar artifact. Those kind of look like sprocket perforations in the film, except in the middle and running the wrong way?
A photo of trees in a park with skyscrapers behind, very washed out from light leaks and a strong line running vertically with some odd artifacts.
Latest roll of film back, some really gnarly light leak artifacts on nearly every photo. Some usable and interesting shots, which I'll post later.
First a not great one; that line appears on a number of frames, curious to hear theories if you have any explanation?

Monochrome photo of side of a shack with rotten roof falling in and siding boards peeling off. Open windows look into a dark interior, a βno trespassingβ sign alongside. A pole in front holds a new-looking streetlight and an address sign.
