I built a procedural medieval island map generator using Wave Function Collapse on hex grids. 4,100 cells, 900 possible states per cell, 60fps on mobile. Wrote up the whole process with lessons learned. Links below πŸ‘‡ #threejs #webgpu

When struggling with a design, I've always known when I've had a breakthrough because the solution is obvious in retrospect.

I think this is why a lot of good design goes unnoticed - because you think that's obviously how it should look and work. But getting there is always challenging.

Ah this is great! Game design has a similar concept in β€œcore pillars” or β€œdesign pillars”. What you wrote seems to work there too.

Just updated one and it got way more useful:

i got room scrying working. it seems promising. i just murdered 2 gold eaters and used the contents of their internal organs to pay for augury.

this spell is "golden oracle". you pay 1 gold to (imperfectly) reveal what's in another room. you re-cast to make the reading more accurate if you want.

I’m not entirely sure! The black thing must be inverted hull outline mesh. There was a possibility of a super rare near-zero division in some lighting calculations, but I don’t know why it would affect the outline mesh like that. So… it must’ve been a ghost.
