Tomorrow, #Albuquerque! Hope to see you there!
My love for @theguardian.com has been steadily growing over the past year, and this just accelerated it into overdrive: hackaday.com/2026/03/09/s...

This is one of the better primers on graphic design for book covers that I’ve seen.
I started playing Pokémon Scarlet (yes yes I know I’m late) and I uh… I kind of love it?
I’ve always bounced off Pokémon games before (except for PoGo, for a while anyway) but something about this one is clicking.
This is a *lovely* photo
PSA:
A scammer is using the email account 'arkadymartine0@gmail.com' to impersonate me.
That is not my email account, and I am not sending messages from it. Please delete all such messages if you receive them.
Ah, but it's so painfully true 😭
This part made me swoon:

Not getting in the way is often a very important way of encouraging and helping someone. I think it's true to say that almost everyone grows up through being left to themselves. "I'll leave you be, but I love you." That's both simple, and hard.
Shigesato Itoi copywriter/CEO, Hobonichi Co., Ltd. "Today's Darling"
My Hobonichi Techo day planner has quotes on each spread, and sometimes they’re super on point.
I found this piece on comparison quite insightful for both writers and editors alike.

Since switching from Android to iPhone (a change unfortunately forced by circumstance) the most frustrating thing has been the frequency with which I tap a control and it does its little “pressed” animation but then has no actual function until I try again. YOU KNOW I TAPPED IT. WTF.
Oh look, a pitch-perfect articulation of my whole creative outlook these days:
“Even though reason later softens that rage, it is essential that rage is recorded, for how else can future generations understand the revulsion that swept the country?”

Nobel Prize For Titles. Right away.
Gas prices at $7/gal and reinstituting the draft is about the only think I can think of that will unite this fucked up America.
We keep yelling about death and sadism, forgetting that there's a substantial number of people here who not only don't care, but who actively wanted to build this world.
Thank you! At an event last night I said "If the word hope doesn't work for you try, 'Never fucking surrender.'" The word hope seems too sunny to a lot of people, but the heart of it as I'm interested in it is: we make the future in the present, if we show up, and that never surrender part.
This happened. The print interview was edited in ways that feel very jumpy, but I got to say some things. Like: Maybe changing the world is more like caregiving than it is like war. Too many people still expect it to look like war. [and then there's a crazy jump-cut w/out transition.]
Oh hell yeah, this is so my jam
“One cannot understand the Iran War without understanding the Kahanists. But I rarely see analysts mention them. Maybe they did, and it was behind a paywall. If a war crime is subscription-only, does it make a sound? Is that sound a stifled scream?”

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.
'The Offering' by Lithuanian artist MK Ciurlionis (1875-1911) who was considered a pioneer of abstract art in Europe. His subject matter was often enigmatic & esoteric with a suggestion of art nouveau & has lost none of its curious appeal with the passing of time.
We turned away from the light when we invented a way to go online without the computer screaming in warning.
Seems like the media should at least express some curiosity about this.
