I have a pair of smoked outserts for the lenses, I just didn't feel like putting them on for the pic. overall, the M40 is surprisingly heavy, but certainly the nicest full face mask I've used. Eventually I want to get a CVC (Combat Vehicle Crewman) kit to decouple the filter and lighten it up.

Here's my M40A1 Field Protective Mask, manufactured in 1994. Featuring clear outserts, a late model second skin manufactured in 2004, and a C2A1 filter. I threw out the original harness and replaced it with a new, stretchy skullcap harness.
