Have my moth ref sheets
Mothe man,,,
Been on a roll drawing all these bugs
Dude I have three lab blocks every week this semester is gonna SLAUGHTER me π₯
I wouldβve liked to shade this piece, but this week is looking especially busy, oof
An unshaded fullbody of a black anthropomorphic butterfly. They are a spicebush swallowtail with white markings on the body and white, blue, and orange markings on the wings. They have a beige shirt with a silhoette of a swallowtail on it and short jeans with frayed white ends.
Trying to get back into art again⦠have the butterfly for now
Cartoon drawing of a chubby light green caterpillar with orange-brown face and feet and a closed-eyes happy expression. It's curled around behind a large dark green leaf with some bites taken out of it and little holes, one of which is shaped like a heart. "KEEP GROWING" appears in large yellow letters across the leaf. Art by Moth Monarch.
"Keep Growing" π
This cute little caterpillar believes in you! Coming soon as stickers to my shop & more! π
just became aware of this--the regime wants to clear-cut massive chunks of Oregon's old growth forests in the name of timber production.
you have until March 23rd to comment.
i know we have endless fucking things to scream at politicians about--this is an important one too.
An illustration of a green beetle of the species mecynorrhina torquota. It has light cream spots and a white face with a short dark horn.

But here's the jumper
A photo of a large grey moth with orange hind winds. The moth is resting someone's finger. It had white thread like antenna and brown legs.
A poplar hawk moth, Laothoe populi, from last year. Found the moth on the ground and moved it some where else to prevent it from getting stepped on.

Artwork of my Moth OC, Nuri. He's a Blue Tiger Moth.
The same artwork, minus the robes, giving a better look at the clothing underneath.
The mandatory Nuri design tweaks every year
Will make a full ref for the moth later I haven't been in a great state the past 2 days and I'm focusing on finishing a comm atm
ento taxonomy is crying over your microscope because you have 10 unpublished manuscripts describing new species of dust mite that no one will ever give a fuck about. meanwhile ornithologists have been arguing about the same beloved warblers for decades
Digital artwork of a dragon head caterpillar (Polyura schreiber) with the many dots on its horned head and chubby body rendered to resemble little stars, a few actually being tiny four-pointed stars. Above its head a partially eclipsed moon is framed between its inner horns, and large four-pointed stars rest on the center of its upper head and hang on either side of its head between its outer horns. More stylized rays and stars radiate out into the edges of the image, rich textured gold against a dark blue framing the green bug's body. The caterpillar is outlined in metallic gold and has fairly realistic face details and feet. Art by Moth Monarch.

I think Iβm out of bugs to post again
Nature is beautiful photo of a sour gummy worm chillin on a leaf
BIG things are happening this fall
Rant(?): I hate it when people only care about non human animals if the animal is "useful" to humans/ when people are unable to appreciate animals beyond what humans might use them for.
I just find it sad that we share a planet with so many interesting species and yet some people don't care unless-
Something big might be happening for me this fall, will update when I find out π¦
Vaejovis mexicanus, 12/30/25
A blurry photo of a scorpion within scattered detritus and stones. The scorpion is a uniform light brown color and blends in well with the ground, but its shape can be made out in contrast to the white sticks littering the ground.
This was a bug Iβve always wanted to see; my first ever scorpion! Itβs a pretty blurry photo, sorry, but if you look for the claws you should be able to make it out!
@pterouras2.bsky.social hiiii here's my side account, feel free to follow it
not much on it though besides my random thoughts just keep that in mind
not on the poll, but perhaps lacewings?
Yo happy birthday!!! Hope you enjoy it!
yeah thatβs fair lmao. sorry wasp I caught two years ago for ento class you will remain a mystery to me
Would you believe me if I said those are the easy ones. IDing an ichneumon wasp or stonefly without a microscope or something is akin to pulling your teeth out
i havenβt drawn in a while
