I've been challenged to write a hard boiled detective novel, where the figurative language is drawn from scientific language, or field specific vocabulary.
For example, in geology "spathic" means "having good cleavage".
I want to make it as funny as possible, if anyone has suggestions please post

There is a certain kind of Catholic who thinks that they are more Catholic than anyone because they only recognize the Councils of Nicea and Trent and no Pope but Pius X and Peter.
