If you cannot understand the benefit of enhancing your visibility on the road, please consider driving more and stopping cycling.
My experience also extends to being a motorist & pedestrian also, unlike your report which is cycle-orientated & ignores lots of factors. Are you saying i should risk being killed in order to compare & contrast the viability of wearing hi-vis? Please get real here.
In winter always. On a summers day in the countryside I don’t unless i’m going on a long cycle / using roads with heavy traffic or through urbanised areas I would always use it.
Thank you but my own lived experience is a million times more valuable than a narrow, half-baked report that only focuses on cherry-picked items involving cyclist safety & ignores general road safety & appropriate behaviour.
I am a cyclist, and I always use the road safely unlike yourself and your ‘facts’.
So you’ve no responsibility as a road user to be visible on the road? Infrastructure is obviously a factor but so is behaviour. We have excellent motor infrastructure yet people are still being killed driving cars.
Please stay off the roads until you learn basic road safety.
Sharing the road with motor traffic that can’t see you is inherently unsafe. To suggest otherwise is completely moronic. End of story.

I’m a cyclist & a driver & I thought your comments were a disgrace on the radio this morning. Cyclists should absolutely wear helmets & high-viz on the roads; insane to suggest not doing so this isn’t an issue.
