Did you ever see the weird 1980s ITV drama “The One Game” which had a similar scenario?

Shame can be a destructive emotion, but this is what a culture without shame looks like.
And it's consistently rewarded and indulged.
Professional analytic philosopher who is now op-ed for hire.
The most psychedelic sequence in the film: I sought out their album after seeing this.
Lindsay Anderson’s film “If”: as a 17 year old, Malcolm McDowell’s gang were bold young rebels; now, everybody in the film is an English public school caricature ( and maybe that was the whole point).
There seems to be a pop music baseline across the media of about 1966 ( at least for now) so Elvis and Buddy Holly are out.
Country Joe MacDonald: the son of American communists who rebelled by joining the US Navy but came back with the pioneering SF group The Fish. My favourite band moment is the lysergic first album, captured in the 1967 Monterey Festival film with this modal instrumental.

Oxford’s Very Short Introduction imprint is a good example of concise non-fiction, I think.

And the whole prefecture flips to the LDP. Lessons must be learnt ( says a non-voting witness).
And the Spinal Tap commentary, of course.
Thoughtful commentary on this election day
Agree with this. It is also Wendy Browns “Left Melancholy” thesis passed down to 2026, but with the Labour Right’s view of the national state as our lost object
