I barely make art in the summer, since I just want to be outside! I take recordings and get most of the editing done in the winter.
My son made this. #art
How many conversations about heretical saint veneration does one get to have in a lifetime? Not enough, I would say. I loved this conversation with the Polish Folk Witch Joanna Tarnawska. ๐
Itโs on your local podcast app.
Iโm teaching a course this spring on saints for folks like me โ non-Christians and the Christian-ambivalent. Learn more about it here! Danicaboyce.com/wonder-club
I look like this now.
This is silly but maybe it gives someone hope

Still the most effective way to remember to do anything
Iโm in a good moment of Bluesky where Iโm basically just following @colleenen.bsky.social and @art-mom.bsky.social and itโs basically Eden.
Medievalist artists take note
Darling!
It still didnโt pass the Bechdel test though
i was trapped inside of a painting for several years as a child

Iโm trying to find (or make?) the equivalent for geese. I know this would add greatly to my life.
Has anyone else noticed the word โmodestโ creeping back in to marketing for womenโs clothing? (ie. alongside cottagecore or folk aesthetic). Is anyone else troubled by this?
Itโs like, yes to long sleeves but not when theyโre made of red flags and dog whistles
I was getting ragey about gender and capitalism and then I remembered I need a daily walk so I got cute snacks from the shop and light shone from within twilight buildings and then everything could be beautiful again.
a pen drawing of Brigid in a shawl holding her cross
A drawing of Ireland and the caption "along with Patrick and Columba, Brigid is a patron saint of Ireland. Born in Louth in 452, she performed mNy miracles and founded the abbey of Kildare. Funny enough, before that Brigid was the celtic goddess of poetry, craftsmanship, healing and fertility. Brigid is known as The Protector and a crosรณg Brรญde (Brigid's cross) woven in her honour will protect a home, but she does has her favourites. She's the patron and protector of:
A drawing of a nurse in scrubs holding a baby. Caprion: Pregnant people, newborns and midwives. Did you know that one of her miracles was an abortion?
A drawing of a blacksmith weaving cross on top of an anvil and the title "blacksmiths"
Brigid: Goddess and Saint
The Irish custom remains to weave Brigid's crosses on her day, February 1st, and hang them above the hearth, doors, beds, in the ceiling and in the byre, to protect from fire, lightning, and evil spirits.
Folks would leave out food offerings for her, of bread and butter, perhaps, or even prepare a symbolic bed of hay for her to sleep in if she was weary of her travels.
St Brigid's Eve and Day
In both Scotland and Ireland, Brigid was believed by many to visit every house on the eve of her feast day, and leave her blessing on the people and animals of the household.
