r/eurovision is mad that the music video for Ferto (Greece 2026) used AI for the pixel graphics.

It was *blatantly* obvious in the live performance graphics, though????

turns out my RYM tag hierarchy template is like one of the top results for "musicbee tag hierarchy" and influences the AI overview on Google lol

I'm generally not a flat design guy but I'm a sucker for simplistic designs like this so much more than than [generic anime girl]

Kodee waving to the viewer. Kodee is a purple character made of simplistic shapes with a rectangular body featuring a black screen-like face with two large white circular eyes and a small smile. It has two crown-like protrusions on top of its head, forming part of its body like they are cat ears, thin stick-like arms and legs, and small rounded feet. One arm is raised in a friendly wave.

I'm a .NET coder and have never touched a line of Kotlin, but safe to say I love Kodee as a mascot lol

people got mad at Linus in particular but honestly, he'd be doing the *exact* same route every newbie would, so I don't see the problem. You can say he should know better given his platform, but he is 100% NOT a Linux person.

With Mastodon if the instance has gone rogue or is unavailable, there's no recourse to recover or direct people to your new presence.

In Linux's case, it's generall risk aversion and unfamiliarity. I always say, just use it on whatever spare machine you have before making the dip.

LEGOSHI

Just a quick little project I did to test out some flat colors, so I figured I’d use a character/style everyone instantly recognizes. And since Beastars is coming back soon… I thought, why not?

Honestly I’m really happy with how it turned out hehe.

Maybe in a world kinder to hybrids, Melon and Legoshi could have found peace together. #Beastars

Kris and Legosi have been together for the longest time.

They may have started off rocky in the beginning, but now they embrace each other.

After all, hybrids gotta stick together

I remember this ad in Gamepro.

Developer wise it is, especially now that Wayland's the default - which I think led to VMware axing Unity mode. Surprised VirtualBox still has its seamless mode.

It's the whole process of installing and the fear that you picked the wrong distro for your needs. Same with Mastodon, which I'd say is even more valid given you're entrusting someone with your online identity.

Bluesky thankfully coalesced on Mint and Bazzite which are completely fair.

Oh I getcha lol. MusicBee seems small on the surface but I *love* my music and have amassed a massive library, and MusicBee makes management of it so easy. None of the native players do and I've tried 'em all, so I 100% sympathise.

Yea lol. But it's been something that I've been struggling with for home use.

I'd love to mute anything about Windows on the Linux feeds on both because I'm not checking them to see people whinge about Microsoft all the time. Mastodon's slightly better but still has this issue.

10.03.2026 13:57 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

one thing I think Mastodon and Bluesky would benefit from is per-feed mute words (on Mastodon it'd be the followed hashtags)

10.03.2026 13:57 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Add MusicBee to that list. Linux has many music players and pretty much all of them basically suck compared to MusicBee.

Linux friend of mine moved to macOS, tried Doppler on there, and he now realises why I lament the lack of MusicBee on Linux, lol.

10.03.2026 13:53 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

what's the specific issue? Don't wanna push you, I'm curious since I still rely on some Windows apps (MusicBee, Apple Music) and resorted to VMware.

(i only did just realise WinBoat existed, I did not get any sleep last night.)

10.03.2026 13:47 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Linux desktop is way too unpredictable unfortunately, and KVM has not caught up to the big two. WinBoat does it but it uses remote desktop to handle it and you might run into latency problems so I'm reluctant to recommend it.

10.03.2026 13:47 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

(Niri is great but there's tons of instabilities particularly surrounding apps that haven't caught up with Wayland, same for Hyprland as well. Workspaces and activities on KDE should do the trick if I move back.)

10.03.2026 13:23 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

There's a reason people recreate the aesthetic on Linux. I might move back to KDE this week and I'm tempted to use Reactionary (basically Windows Classic theme) now lol

10.03.2026 13:23 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

I would stick to VirtualBox anyways, since KVM/QEMU is not great at desktop VM (that's not where the money is going, it's all cloud shit) and Windows VMs are genuinely awful on it. Solution atm would be to pass through a physical GPU but it's a right faff when VirtualBox and VMware already exist.

10.03.2026 13:20 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

AFAIK VirtualBox is the only app that does this now. VMware used to have a similar feature called Unity that was much more integrated (Windows apps would end up in your taskbar like regular apps) but they discontinued it.
