I've actually been surprised that even digital zoom seems to help a bunch. Spending all those pixels on the region of interest really helps with the compression induced blurriness of the plate characters

I've been very curious about whether smart glasses would work for this. I missed so many that went by before I could get my gloves off this winter.
Rebadged "Saab 900"
Wow, this group has sharp eyes for car details (shouldn't be surprised). It's actually my car which I rebadged with the badges I pulled off my mid-80s 900 when it died in the early 2000s
My family did not understand why I was so excited this morning
I've gotta work on my brake-light photography skills. These nighttime shots are hard to look at!
I knew my time back in the lead was going to be short lived, but I thought it would be longer than like 20 minutes
I got all 4 of these in 1 light cycle at 33rd and 5th. Just enough to eek back out infront of @airlineflyer.net for the all-time lead
First of the year! Thanks @airlineflyer.net. still no dupes after 68 sightings
it was a good day in Ocean-sighting

4 days into this wacky project, we've spotted _nearly_ 2% of the 2,059 Fisker Oceans in NYC.

@mccue.bsky.social I bet this is the kind of priceless original content you've been trying to discover on bsky
So then I started collecting pictures
and then I had to make a little Friday project out of it.
Follow @oceansofnyc.bsky.social to see how long it takes to collect all 2,053 of them!
Ever since I heard that a ride-share leasing company bought all of the Fisker Ocean's, I've had fun spotting them constantly around the city.
You had me doubting myself on the current year. Or maybe we should all think of desks aspirationally with 12 month goals.

the Steelers should be by far the most valuable NFL franchise since they've been AI-powered this whole time

Here's one in Chennai, India. Could be a different wing of the one you posted
I think the parents (e.g. me) are just saying they also love Blueys parent characters and wish they were that cool and nice and creative.
Seems the same as wishing I was as articulate as West Wing people or as good at jumping out of windows as Bourne
Ride Brooklyn (formerly on Bergen, now on 4th) has been my favorite for normal bike work on e-bikes. They were chill about it even a few years ago when many wouldn't touch them. When I had issues with the e- parts of my Lectric though, I did self-serve replacements

the post title is a shout-out to @chrislhayes.bsky.social 's Siren's Call which felt like a great intersectional point between my building tech job and my parenting humans job
My friend Jack Neary became a dad and realized the parent blog world is like 90% mom-oriented, so he started DadMag.
If you're a dad (or just appreciate dad-perspective discourse), check it out. The most recent guest-dad interview was a real get

Have you seen @galbeckerman.bsky.social's The Quiet Before? It makes this observation about social movements across a wide range of historical periods, contrasting with recent Internet-enabled flops

It is courteous to put the "Ready to Clean" sign on the outside of the door so that they know they can turn it over though, right?
