Love them showing not telling! And I totally get the single identifier & its necessity to unify/ ability to create ontological models of citizens to get Gov as a platform.
But I simply donβt trust palantir (other unethical companies available) or any successive right wing governments as custodians.

Poverty too, the witchfinder got 20 shillings for each witch he found and would share a % of this with folk who grass up bolshie women as creditable suspects.
Winners all round: nagging sister-in-law gone with a few shillings in your pocket to boot!
P.s the Newcastle witchfinder was Scottish.

A pencil drawing depicting the 1650 Newcastle witch trials, where 15 women were hanged. 4 have already met their fate on the gallows, while another 3 are bound waiting in line to be next. 3 more women look out of the tower window in horror.
Men exchange money in the background while horseman, bell ringers and armed men surround the scene. Drawn by Ralph Gardiner in 1655.
On International Womanβs day iβd like to celebrate the 16 Newcastle witches* killed in one day 375 years ago.
* women who were strong willed, single, queer or catholic.

I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.

Iβm embarrassed to say Iβve never been to Wales other than through it for ferrys to Ireland.

I donβt think people talk enough about how deportations not only impact the family made to leave but also the community they leave behind.
My whole sonβs class is devastated & canβt understand why their friend theyβve known since nursery is suddenly not here or why they were unable to say goodbye.

Hard agree. I think, in the not so distant future, weβll see wealthy people paying to have human tutors for their kids, βrealβ artwork in their homes and βrealβ photography as prize trophies and indicators of taste. (Bit like the arts and craft movement against industrialisation in early 1900βs)

How DARE people conflate being working class with being racist.
Ive not seen one rebuttal of this narrative.
White working class people stand shoulder to shoulder with our neighbours. Go read some books on where blackshirts were ran out, trade unionism or quite frankly any working class history.

Solidarity to the parents of primary kids this craft heavy half term; world book day character outfit, Easter egg painting and bonnet making and finally Red Nose Day bake sales.
Be easier if they were allowed back down the mines or up a chimney eh?
