Thanks ❤️ It was a long time ago, and I've learned to be selective about when to bring out those memories. Your prompt about nostalgic music couldn't *not* have The Fray though

Oh no, but knowing that show I can only imagine it was gut wrenching. 🥺
I used to watch this video with my best friend the summer before college. We had many late nights getting tipsy & planning our adult lives. And then we had a falling out, and he passed away before we could make up. I miss him.
How to Save Life - The Fray
The Freshmen - The Verve Pipe
Camel Walk - Southern Culture on the Skids
This mashup came a little later, but encapsulates that "whole life ahead of me" vibe for me:

Keeping the Leroy Jenkins name alive. I deeply appreciate this reference.
Err, in-shell. That's what I meant!
Doing #WhatAGameDevLooksLike! I'm not at GDC this year, but here's me speaking on a panel at PAX last Fall. Been in production in games/tech for almost 20 years now, including Blizzard, Microsoft, WotC, Bungie, and Epic. There's about an 80% chance I'm thinking of my cat or food at any given time.
Another vote for unsalted, shelled peanuts. But if you really want them to love you forever, give them scrambled eggs. They'll eat cat kibble too.
Two is one and one is none!
If given the choice, get a room with two queen beds so that you can have a bed for sleeping and a bed for hanging out and eating snacks.
Now more than ever I’m convinced losing Anthony Bourdain meant we lost probably the biggest person on tv who advocated for the wonders of meeting new people and calling anyone online who hated learning new cultures the children they were, ruthlessly to the camera.
So pretty! ❤️
Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some zen to the feed.
"If the company sees the end clearly, it owes the public an explanation for why racing toward it is the right move. Power without justification is not leadership. It is acceleration without accountability."

Cancelling plans is okay. Putting yourself first is okay. Going for a long walk is okay. Abandoning society is okay. Moving into a cave with a family of raccoons is okay. Giving them tiny swords & shields is okay. Do what you need to do to cope.
may we all be so free
They are! Two Hoyts (a Torrex XT and an Eclipse) and a nearly 20-year old Browning that was my first bow. 😀
A screenshot of me in a Zoom call with my cat Turtle off to the side, laying upside down with her feet in the air.
A close up of Turtle laying upside down with her feet up in the air
Setting up a cat bed on my desk has greatly improved my Zoom call experience.
Ben Horowitz explains why AI killed the 'Mythical Man Month': "For my whole life in technology, there was this thing called the Mythical Man Month: nine women cannot have a baby in a month." "If you're Google, you can't just put a thousand software engineers on a product and wipe out a startup because you can only... build that product with seven or eight people. Once they've figured it out, they've got that lead." "That's not true with AI. If you have data and you have enough GPUs, you can solve almost any problem. It is magic." "You can throw money at the problem. We've never had that in tech."
Ah yes, the tech industry. A classic example of an underdog who has never been able to throw money at a problem.

Yesssss. I have a signed copy of "I Would Lick it for Hours" on my bookshelf ❤️

Earlier this year, Dr. Jane Goodall sat down for an interview for Brad Falchuk’s new Netflix series, Famous Last Words.
The premise of the series is to interview people on the condition that the interview not air until the subject has passed away.

Baudrillard’s 4 stages of simulacra applied to pumpkin spice Stage one (next to picture of pumpkin): Initially the sign (image or representation) is a reflection of basic reality Stage two (next to picture of pumpkin pie): the sign masks a basic reality. The image becomes a distortion of reality Stage three (next to Starbucks pumpkin spice latte): the sign marks the absence of basic reality. The image calls into question what the reality is and if it even exists Stage four (next to jug of pumpkin spice flavored coffee mate): the sign bears no relation to any reality whatsoever; it is it’s own pure simulacrum
Don’t know who made this but thank you
