I was an athlete all through school and the best way to “keep politics out of sport,” is to stop letting politicians dictate who can and cannot play sports. It is conservative politicians who have meddled in sports with trans bans and then conservatives who cry we should keep politics out of sport.

Advocating autonomy for Quebec is a standard position for a Quebec politician. Even the die-hard separatists want an independent Quebec to remain in an economic union with Canada.

Facts matter. I would be willing to bet that the shootings by trans people get more media attention though, which ends up creating more unjustified bias.
My doomer-worry about AI is not that the LLMs become omnipotent and take over the world but that the wealthy and powerful use it as a means to consolidate power and marginalize or lay off skilled workers and also everything about our technological and political and social life gets worse
