I've had the experience of being a total nobody whose friends don't message him anymore. I've reached out to those friends and they were happy to talk to me! I don't cope with stress super well, so I tend not to have fun when a game is kicking my butt. I play easy not because I can't, but because I don't want to. Having fun is the point!

It's especially rough for newcomers on the consumer side- if you want to learn about someone's OC you've got to hope they've pinned the ref/lore or updated it recently or you'll be digging through their feed FOREVER. On DA or whatever at least there's folder and gallery search features!

I truly hate that the default way to share a creative work is to toss it on a site like this instead of a place where people can go and see your body of work presented with less emphasis on temporal context
