We are asking members who are teachers in state-funded schools across England whether they reject the proposal of an unfunded 6.5 percent increase over three years for teacher pay, and would be prepared to take industrial action to win sufficient funding to secure an above inflation pay increase, reduce workload and defend directed time provisions, including the 1,265 hours limit.

Education Support Wellbeing Workshop organised by Wirral NEU “Staying well in challenging times” was the key message from the Education Support Wellbeing Workshop organised by Wirral NEU for our members. This practical and empowering session was delivered by an associate from Education Support the national mental health charity for education professionals. The facilitator, a former teacher and headteacher, brought both professional expertise and lived experience, emphasising that the current education system often makes sustainable teaching and leadership impossible without deliberate, protected wellbeing practices.

NEU Condemns Redundancies at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Amidst Excessive Executive Pay and Overcrowded Classrooms The National Education Union (NEU) has condemned the Holy Family Catholic Multi Academy Trust (HFCMAT) for pushing ahead with plans to make teaching staff redundant at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Birkenhead, despite already unacceptable working and learning conditions.
