Hey Colorado,
In today's wastewater data, there's a SHARP uptick in RSV & COVID, that is not (as of yet) reflected in the trends.
COVID is back up near our winter peak, RSV is the highest all season.
While this is partial data, it's concerning enough that I wanted to highlight.

To sum it all up:
The overall picture looks much better this week.

RSV is finally dropping, Flu B climbs but Flu overall is dropping. COVID is dropping.

RSV remains near peak levels, so please watch out, especially for little ones who are most vulnerable.

It looks more likely that we will match/surpass last season's record breaking number of hospital admissions for flu. 😞

We are only 425 admissions behind last year's record, and adding over 100 admissions per week, with Flu B still climbing & 10 weeks left in the "flu season".

The wastewater picture looks pretty good too, though RSV and Flu B are being detected in most utilities. overall levels are dropping and most utilities are in "steady decrease".

It is nice to see a drop in Flu B levels.

Measles is not detected in any of the Sentinel sites.

In Pediatric Patients At Children's Hospital associated facilities, RSV is dropping but Flu B positive specimens continue to climb, though the rise has flattened significantly.

While there are good signs generally for Flu, Flu B positivity is still rising, further indicating Flu B has likely not peaked.

Finally, some good news.

RSV finally begins dipping.

Flu hospitalizations dip slightly, as Flu A cases virtually disappear, and the Flu B wave grows.

There is no Measles being detected in Colorado wastewater at this time, but the utilities serving the affected area are no longer part of the Sentinel Surveillance system (Broomfield, Louisville, South Adams). These utilities were part of the Lab phase 1 surveillance program.

CDPHE reports a 3rd measles case associated with the Broomfield high case, this one in a child who apparently attends Broomfield Heights Middle School.

With 3 connected cases, this is officially an outbreak.

These exposures seem to be the earliest thus far, making this case 1.

Flu B levels are particularly high, with 8 utilities above median levels, and Boulder levels so high they are off the chart.

Durango, Fort Collins, and Greeley are all also particularly high.

Flu Positivity and RSV are climbing, with no sign of slowing.

Flu B Positivity is driving the increase in overall Flu Positivity.

It really is. I dont think this person was infected by the last case. I think they were both infected by someone else who hasnt been identified yet (due to the timing…). Which means there may be a bunch more coming soon. 😭
