That is amazing and oddly reminiscent of the "LET'S GO PIRATES" girl from the 19-inning Braves game in Pittsburgh years ago.
Also, what I'd really like is a way to mute posts that are just screencaps of that guy's posts (both of them) from his other website (both of them).
Does that include pictures of cat food?
Ian's trying to become a Slowsky.
I really am! There are some outstanding people on this list and it is an incredible honor to be considered among them.
Thank you, Craig! It is a great honor and I'm excited to have been chosen.
I never felt like I did much work, but keeping the forums running facilitated so much of the evolution of the quiz bowl community. It's amazing to see it still running after 20+ years.
Thank you to the ACF and to the quiz bowl community for your recgonition and appreciation.
I learned of my selection earlier last week, and truthfully, I'm still processing it. I'm just a guy who made a website work; it feels like such a small thing.
Sysadmin work is often an unappreciated job, and the good ones make it look like they haven't done anything at all.
In a bit of personal news...
Today the Academic Competition Federation announced that I have been selected as a recipient of their annual Gordon Carper Lifetime Achievement Award for my contributions to the quiz bowl community.

The more I continue to live, the more I wonder if continuing to live in this world is a lost cause.
Donald Trump, a profoundly corrupt individual, twice impeached, demanded that the Supreme Court provide him immunity protection for his misdeeds. Despite the obvious threat posed by a man favored to retake the Presidency while attacking democratic processes and promising retribution to his political opponents, the Republican majority granted his demand.
On news that the President of South Korea was sentenced to life in prison for insurrection, a good time to remember that real democracies do not hand their leaders immunity for actions in office.

I wonder what the Eepybird people are up to now...
I grabbed both a Coke and a protein shake out of the fridge and started shaking the wrong one, so that's how my morning is going.
I think "California sober" had me fooled a bit, too.
