Main obstacle right now is the lack of support for a mobile experience.

I did not enable full federation with private message and atproto users being able to create new rooms. But, closed communities and platforms with moderation team can take the leap that I am afraid to take and provide a full matrix experience to their users.

@matrix.org is the leading candidate, and its federated system aligns closely with our network ideals. However, I can’t ask visitors to create yet another account on a messaging platform. It would introduce too much friction.

I can do simple nix services on a single vps, but maybe it is time to learn k3s and have relay and plc replica at home with all my unused computers, proxied by vps.
