I dunno I feel very confident in this. It's the same mindset as saying "college should be expensive for EVERYONE because I had to pay student loans" or "healthcare shouldn't be free because I had to pay for my cancer treatment". "I'm mad I paid for a game others played for free" could you afford it?
There are few things in this life more conservatively coded then getting mad when other people don't have to suffer the same way you suffered.

For me the promise of Deathloop (interconnected scheduling and puzzle solving leads to a variety of different but equally interesting runs) was so much more enticing than the reality (there's kind of only one way to solve the puzzle and it's about executing the single correct path) that I tapped out

I have a friend who comes over and we vent about Israel and how bloodthirsty and demonic the administration is, and the culture, the "right to rape" riots... and then we spent about 15-20 minutes comforting each other about how neither of us has ever wanted to hate another country or culture ever.

I made a WG Dragons list as my earnest attempt to make a B1 deck. I try to tell a little story and the deck can basically only ramp, draw cards, and play dragons, and has to win by dealing 120-ish damage to a table. I just think white & green dragons are beautiful and wanted a place to show them off

I tend to struggle connecting with "emotional platformers" but Neva absolutely won me over. I own a soft & fluffy white dog that looks just like the titular... wolf-dog-goddess and so the simple gameplay really let the gorgeous visuals and heart wrenching storytelling just shine.
Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin (2015)
This is my favorite of the trilogy. The vibes of Majula are so immaculate, it has the widest weapon variety and buildcraft, and the game itself is fairly challenging in its own right while also feeling more fantastical and whimsical. Feeble Cursed One!

This game stunned me. Everything from the music to the art direction to the absolutely phenomenally tight gameplay and incredible boss designs, I couldn't believe how tuned in I was to Yi and his thoughtful tale of survival and revenge. One of my favorite characters ever!
