Off course I'm sure people discredit cozy games just as people did discredit "casual" games or walking sims just "appealing to the normies" or something like "they're not real games". So you're not wrong!
But I think there's more to it than gamers being gamers, if that makes any sense.
Tbf. Stardew valley was made before the label of "cozy game" was used.
And even then, some aren't saying that about the games that have aomething to say and are also labeled as cozy.
