"NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb has apologised to the families of gay hate crime victims after a damning report found officers were "indifferent, negligent, dismissive or hostile"."

Interesting insight into this ruling. Parental rights are paramount when it gives the conservatives a chance to hurt trans kids, but when supportive parents want to be trusted to manage their child’s transition, their rights don’t count.

Hi, all! I’m Daisy (she/her). Loving Portland, OR and life as a housewife, but I miss working in the library.

This is a great list of books by trans authors: everything from traditionally published series to self-published debut novels. And nothing links to Amazon!

Anything less than abolishing ICE is unacceptable. I don't want to hear people talk about training these motherfuckers or throwing more money at them. The entire institution needs to be permanently disbanded. Do not let politicians sell you on anything less.

Cooked salmon after 15 minutes under a low broiler (8-10” away).

The best way to cook salmon (or steelhead trout). The skin is crispy and delicious!

Of all the things the Trump administration has done to marginalized groups, this seems relatively minor, but it’s a slow avalanche of decreasing human rights, fear, and dehumanization.

This isn’t just theoretical. My daughter lives in Australia. It’s part of the risk calculation when I plan to visit her.

Here we go with further attacks on trans people. If nothing else, it has a chilling effect on international travel. If I can’t count on my passport being valid when I make my plans, is it worth going?
