On pure ability he warranted a place in the squad on a number of occasions but he wasn’t that good we could afford to carry him as a passenger. More talented than Khoyar probably but not as hard working.
You need to have the energy to press relentlessly under MP and to build up the stamina to do that takes a lot of effort and mental strength. If you are not prepared to work you need unbelievable talent for your teammates to tolerate it.
I do wonder if he is one of those players who just couldn’t get ‘fit’ enough to warrant a place in the team. MP clearly values a work ethic and team cohesion and you are not going to fit into that plan if you aren’t prepared to work as hard as your teammates
To be fair to Gillingham the appalling conditions suggest lumping it into the box was the right tactic to choose against a team defending a lead. Wasn’t much running by either team second half Iorpenda the exception

Too big a risk playing Jodi against Gillingham they would just kick him to bits like the previous matches.

Watching the first half against Harrogate made me realise how much I miss Dan Crowley the player not the man.
The downside is I am struggling to really embrace this Notts team as they just feel far more functional than some of the glorious football we played under Williams and occasionally Maynard.

I feel the same way was hoping for something a bit more 70s Addidas inspired. This was a bit of a let down when measured against those hopes.
